A full moon was just above the mountain. It was raditing its beautiful aura. Serena had always wanted to come up to Mt. Moon on nights like this. She heard that Clefairy dance under full moons and it was very beautiful to watch.
Her Vulpix was walking with Serena up to the top of the mountain. It was kinda tired since it was getting past midnight but it wanted to at least protect her if any wild pokemon attacked. But to their surpise, there was no wild pokemon about so it made things easier.
They soon made it to the top and Serena had set up a picnic near a pond. She knew that other people would probably come up here to observe the Clefairys and the moon. Hopefully, no Team Rocket members wouldn't try to steal the Clefairy while Serena was around.

Lecce was making his way up the mountain path, on his way to Pewter and then Viridian. Seth, his Roserade, was at his side in case any wild pokemon attacked, though they had been left alone more than Lecce'd expected. He'd been taking the extended route, part of his added training to work the kinks out of his team, though he hadn't expected it to take this long because of it. He certainly hoped that Chaos wouldn't mind a short wait if he was slowed down too much.
Coming around a turn in the path, he spotted a brief flash of red a bit off of the route. He couldn't remember any red-colored pokemon in this area, not native, anyway. It was very late for most trainers to be out and about, though, too... After a moment of consideration, he stepped off the path and in the direction of the red flash, wanting to check this out a bit before moving on. He was already behind schedule, anyway, what was a few more minutes?
He was a bit surprised, to say the least, when he spotted a young woman having what appeared to be a picnic. As he came closer and got a better look at the other, a vague familiarity hit him.
"Ah," he said aloud when realization dawned. "You're an officer in Cerulean." He couldn't remember her name, perhaps speaking to her only in passing. Now his brows notched together, curiosity getting the better of him. "What are you doing here so late?"

Serena turned around to see the man. She knew that she seen him a few times in the station but she never knew his name. She smiled as she said. "Oh, I`m just here to watch the Clefairy dance and observe the beautiful moon. I knew that it might be a long night so I decided to pack some food and have a picnic. But most of all, I wanted to see if my friend kept his promise and came here to watch the Clefairy with me. That`s all I am doing." Serena then gracefully bowed as she introduced herself. "I`m Serena Rose and like you said, I am an officer. May I ask for your name?"
Her Vulpix cocked its head in confusion at the sight of the man and the Roserade. It didn`t seem like that man wasn`t here to cause any trouble, but to be sure, it stood next to Serena to protect her, but soon let out a yawn after a minute of staring at the Roserade.

Lecce nodded as she spoke. He'd heard about the full moon ritual, though hadn't taken an interest in it himself. He gave a small bow in return. "Lecce," he introduced simply. (Frankly he didn't like his first name, and tended to ignore it.) He glanced up at the moon. He wasn't particularly superstitious, but he'd heard it was bad luck to sit under a full moon by yourself.
"A friend? Hmm ...If you'd like, I can stay until your friend shows."
Seth, meanwhile, had been silently staring back at the Vulpix warily. After all, their types were horrible mismatched if it was sent to attack. But once it was certain there was no battle ahead, he tilted his head curiously, thinking that its coloring seemed a bit... special. Perhaps it was similar to his own teammate? Regardless, he took a few steps towards it, offering one bouquet-hand (the poisonous blooms closed) towards it in greeting.

Serena lifted her head back up then said. "Its nice to meet you, Lecce. I don`t mind if you stay with me. Its just... I don`t know if he will come due to his recent decidions and plus, he don`t like being forced to be promised to do stuff he doesn`t like to do."
Serena then sat down on the cover that she had place down on the ground and started to dig through her bag and pulled out some sandwiches and a small picther of tea then layed them out if Lecce wanted to stay.
Vulpix smelled the bouquet-hand when the Roserade offered it to it. From the smell of it, it didn`t mean any harm. It let out a happy cry and nodded its head like as if it was bowing repectfully like Serena did with Lecce.

Lecce gave a curious look, but didn't comment on this friend of hers. It wasn't any of his business, after all. He came to sit on the farther side of the cover, taking glass of the offered tea, though holding off on the food, assuming that it was mainly for this friend of hers.
"This Clefairy dance... is it really all it's cracked up to be? I've never actually seen it before," he admitted.
Roserade smiled at the bow, then moved the bouquet to his waist and bowed in return. He gave a smile, as charmingly as it could, before reaching out and easily cutting a stray wildflower from the grasses nearby and offering it to the fox. Yes, it could be quite the show-off at times if a female was around. If Lecce had spotted the behavior he would've rolled his eyes; this was one of the things he needed to work on with the plant type.

Serena turned towards the moon at Lecce`s question. She took a moment to look at it and the stars around it before answering. "Last time, I got to see some of it before a rampage of Mankeys and Primapes came through here. But it was good while it lasted. Luckly, me and my friend was able to get rid of them. So I`m hoping that nothing will happen this time."
Vulpix smiled as it took the flower. It was very nice of the Roserade to give it such a beautiful flower. It placed the flower down before happily thanking the Roserade. Maybe Vulpix could get Serena to put the flower behind its ear in a minute or two or if they found more flowers, they could make a flower crown.

"I see," Lecce replied, giving a brief look around automatically. He hadn't seen many wild pokemon tonight, but that didn't mean that couldn't change if the aggressive species were involved. Turning back to Serena, he offered a slight smile. "Well, at least there's two of us, now, if anything interrupts." Roserade flashed a grin to Vulpix, posing in a 'Think nothing of it,' way. It had a pleased look on its face, almost a smirk. It jerked its head up suddenly, and turned to look over the slight grasses beside one of the mountain's entrances. It seemed the dance was about to begin. ((I'm not sure if you had anything in mind for this or not, so if you'd like it to be something else moving around or for anything to happen, just go for it. ))

(I don't mind. I was about to have the Clefariys come in anyway.)
Serena broke away from the moon and looked to Lecce and smiled. "Yeah... Anything shouldn't happen right now. Besides, I don't think those Primapes want to come back up here after want happened to them. By the way, your more than welcome to take some food. I don't think hes coming."
Serena's attention soon turned to some rustling grass before a few Clefairys popped their heads out of the grass and then they started to get ready for the ritual, still waiting for anymore Clefairys to show up. Serena was happy to see the Clefairy finally coming out and said. "Oh, look. I think they are about to start! Vulpix! Please come here!"
Vulpix heard Serena call for it and immeditely ran towards her but not before it got the flower that Roserade got it. It layed down next to Serena and placed the flower down. Serena saw the flower and knew what it probably wanted to do with it and placed the flower above Vulpix's ear. "I also got pokemon food too if any of our Pokemon gets hungry." Serena added as she petted Vulpix's head.

Lecce nodded slightly, and took a sandwich. When he spotted the flower he gave a look to his Roserade, shaking his head at it when it sat beside him, looking unapologetic. Taking his first few bites, he settled in to watch some of the dance.
It was interesting, he thought. Not so much the dance itself--all he could see was some spinning poofy pink pokemon jumping around in a circle. Whatever the meaning of the dance was, it was lost on him. What did interest him was that they were doing this at all. Sure, most people knew that pokemon were intelligent, but to have their own festival-like dances? It made him wonder just how they came to the world in the first place, whether they were from other places or simply were.
He looked to Serena after a while, pulling out of his own thoughts and somewhat bored with the dance. He felt it would be alright to ask casually. "So who was this friend you were waiting on, Serena? He must be a close friend, if you didn't know if he'd show up or not but you came anyway."

Serena watched as the Clefairy danced. Though it seemed that it wasn't very special but she heard that happiness falls on anyone who watches a Clefairy dance under a full moon. Her Vulpix also watched but soon fell asleep due to it being very tired, not from the dance.
Serena then turned to answer Lecce. She sighed before saying. "Well, I don't want to say who he is. Its not because its too personal but I just don't want too much attention to be brought on him. Hes my childhood friend and we've know each other since we were babies. We're like the bestest of friends even though he can be so headstrong and lies a lot." She stopped a second to pet the sleeping Vulpix before adding. "Before he left, he gave me this Vulpix. This Vulpix is a very special Vulpix thats hard to find. I believe that this Vulpix shows that he really cares..." A tear came down on her face. She quickly wiped it away before Lecce could see it.
"Its just... I miss Chaos very much" As soon as she realized what she just said, she quickly slapped her hands over her mouth. She thought that she was thinking that but it must have slipped. She just hoped that Lecce didn't notice what she just said.

Lecce's first reaction was a blink. Then he stiffened as the name registered. "C......Chaos?" he asked, voice strained.
Suddenly, sitting here for a break and to chat with a teammate seemed like a horrible, horrible idea. He quickly got to his feet, attempting to play it smooth and failing miserably as he nearly stepped on his own pokemon. Later, he might realize what an opportunity this could be, but for now the phrase 'bestest friend' was playing over and over in his mind. "...Sorry, Serena. It's been fun, but I really need to start moving again."
He turned to head back towards the path, a ruffled Roserade quickly moving to follow with a look back to the sleeping Vulpix. "Thanks for the sandwiches. You think you'll make it back okay by yourself?" He knew she was a qualified officer, but manners were manners, and he knew he'd regret leaving her alone if he didn't at least ask.

Serena could only sigh at Lecce's reaction. It was clear that he was trying to get away from her but she didn't mind if it was what he was trying to do. She sighed before answering. "Yeah, I'll be fine. I was thinking about leaving anyway."
She picked up the sleeping Vulpix and placed it gentlely down on the grass before picking up everything she had placed out on the cover and putting them back into her bag. As she was doing this, she said to Lecce with her back turned to him. "Its okay if you want to leave, I really don't mind. Your not the first person to this around me. Its seems that Chaos doesn't have that many fans in Kanto but it looks like everyone is scared of him, even if they never seen his Pokemon fight before. I don't blame you if your the same. Sometimes, I'm scared what he can do to others. And please don't tell anyone but since he joined Team Rocket, I'm really afaid of what he'll do. I would always stop him from harming others on our journey but since I'm no longer around him, he may resort to a much... eviler way."
Serena finally finished packing up everything then proceeded to return her Vulpix to its Pokeball before turning to Lecce, giving him a smile before saying. "I'm sorry if I spoiled the night for you and your Roserade. It was rude of me to bring up his name and cause all this."

Lecce raised his hands and gave a weak smile, attempting a comforting gesture while she moved around, packing her meal. The dance was obviously ruined for her, too, it seemed. This was why he generally kept to himself; he was horrible with talking to girls, no matter what the reason. But he wanted to reassure Serena that it wasn't her fault, or even Chaos'.
"Err, no no, it's not..." He gave a nervous chuckle. "I didn't even know who he was until a few weeks ago... It's just... ah..." He trailed off, trying to think of how to explain this. Obviously, 'I'm off to battle your best childhood friend' wouldn't be appropriate. He would try a soft approach, and hope that she wasn't one of those tsundere that would beat him up and then start crying.
"It's just... that I have a battle coming up with him, and...." He gave a very vague explanation; how he'd met the red head at the Dock in Vermilion, and that they'd decided to meet for a battle. He was careful not mention the package (and decided that his own showing-off was definitely information he should not spread around) and nervously watched her as he finished speaking. "...So that's all. I'm not afraid of him, or you by association. You're my team mate and an officer, and I'm going to treat you like one no matter who you're friends with." As he spoke the last part, a face flickered across his mind of a one-time meeting, of a smile and a friendly little Nidoran, but he quickly shoved it aside and focused back on Serena. "...Okay?"

Serena listened to Lecce's story. As he explained everything, Serena was overjoyed that she at least got to hear that Chaos was still around, doing what he usually does. She wanted to cry tears of joy but she didn't want to do that in front of Lecce. At the end of it, Serena was silent for a minute or two. It was clear that she was deep in thought before she spoke like as if she was going to cry. "I... I'm really happy to hear all that. I just haven't heard anything about him in weeks. I mean that during my days off at the station, I would try to find him in spots I knew he would go like Cerulean Cave or any of his favorite training areas. But I thank you for telling me this, I really do!"
Serena then cleared her voice, removing the sound like she was about to cry and then continued. "Lecce, I belive now that the old legend about the Clefairys dance under a full moon is true. And Chaos told me that it was just a stupid myth." She then smiled cutely before adding. "And I'm glad that you think that way about me. I didn't mean to offend you if I said you was scared of him."
"But..." Serena said, changing the subject. "You said you was going to battle him? I would ask if I could accompany you to see him but I think Chaos would freak out if he saw me unless I was to put on a disguise to fool him. But its your battle afterall and I would only get in the way. But if you need any info on Chaos, just ask me! Its the least I can do for you telling me about your meeting with him."

"Heyah!" Screamed out Manatee Express, which broke through the silence. Serena and Lecce just saw an Ultra Ball fly past their faces. "I got you now dancing clefairy's!" The clefariy he was aiming at dodged out of the way rythmicly. The clefairy then started to run away in fear. "Aww... Wait! go Rex!" Manatee Express sent out his seviper Rex. "Ok use your tail to trip up that clefairy!" Rex lunged infront of one of the fleeing clefairys and tripped it with it's tail. "Heh your mine now!" Said Manatee Express rather sinister.

Serena flinched when the Ultra ball came out nowhere. It took her a few seconds to realize what was going on and turned to the other fleeing Clefairys and the Serviper and the trapped Clefairy. "I'm sorry Lecce." Serena started. "It looks like that we have work to do. We can talk later."
She turned towards the Serviper again and then threw one of her Pokeballs above the Servipers head, releasing her Lilligant in front of the Serviper. Lily extended its leafy arms out, like it was trying to protect the Clefairy from any harm. Serena then did the same in front of the mans sight so that he couldn't throw another Pokeball. "I'm sorry but I can't allow you to continue this. Please leave so that the Clefairys can continue their dance."

Lecce tensed when Serena mentioned coming along with him. It wasn't that she was unpleasant to be around, just that extra people traveling made it more hassle to train. He relaxed as she continued, though he had the feeling that she really would prefer to see Chaos again.
He opened his mouth and started to speak but cut short when the ball flew between them, automatically jerking his head back. The moment he caught sight of the uniform the trouble maker wore, his lip thinned. A Rocket. Of course it would be a Rocket. He nodded to Serena, already pulling free his own pokeballs. "Right."
He returned Seth before the grass type could get into trouble, already moving towards the poisonous pokemon, and tossed the ball in his other hand. "Come on, Arch', time to work!"
The ball popped open easily, and soon the Mightyena was jumping in beside the Liligant, head low and growling at the Seviper.
(...I dunno if we want to do a battle or not? I can add stats if we are. o,o)

(Oh, the stats are really simple. Serebii.net and bulbapedia both have the base stats; the health is just the base hp times the level's tenth place. So like, lv20-29 would be x2, lv 15 would be x1, etc.
If we do battle, I'll count mine at lv 20, since that's what it was when this topic started.)
