Togekiss was struck dead on, having been in the upward swing to regian height and left open in the process. Ann winced, chiding herself mentally for allowing Chris to get comfortable with the slow speed Tan had been moving; now left utterly surprised at the faster attacking response.
And what an attack it was. Chris gave a cry as it was hit, taking the 105 damage square in the tail feathers; it tumbled through the air to land on the Snorlax' arm, rolling off and coming to a stop at the Pokemon's side. It shakily reached for the burn mark with its wings. Chris was now fully disillusioned to how fun it was to 'play' on top of a Snorlax.
Ann bit her lip in worry. "Come on, Chris, you can still stand. Use another Air Slash!"

Snorlax took the 64 damage without much retaliation. It was a Snorlax, which wasn't exactly prone to dodging attacks. It yawned and kept eyes closed as it flinched against the attack, recharging as Dan considered just Hyper Beam spamming the rest of the match... no no, he shouldn't. That'd be mean. Instead, he just coaxed Tan back into fighting spirits as he watched the now quite hurt Togekiss. It wasn't Rocket protocal... but maybe he could call off the match if Chris ended with less than 15% HP...
"Is your Togekiss going to hold up? We can always call it off" Dan called out without any mocking tone this time, watching the Pokemon circle above his

Ann blinked in surprise at the question. She looked to Chris, as weary as he looked she knew he could take a few more hits. With Hyper Beam in use, there was still a chance at victory, but that didn't account for its other moves... Still; it was an odd question. She looked back to Dan, eyebrow raised curiously.
"...Why would you offer that? It's true this was only a spar, but..."

"Because we're friends and this isn't a mission. I know the Pokemon Center is just down the road, but really, if you don't wanna fight to the faint, I won't force you to"
Tan seemed set on the idea as well, letting out a deep 'Snoooooooore' as it nodded, even giving a little bit of a smile. Dan seconded his Pokemon's comment as he put his hands in his pants pocket
"Or you can show me your fighting spirit"

(...Whoops. Forgot we talked about the friends/enemies part before we started xD)
Before Ann could give an answer, Christ chirruped and glided down for a soft landing on top of Tan's belly. It waddled in a few tired circles, lightly patting the mark on the stomach from earlier in apology before settling down, tucking it's head under a wing and dozing as its spot rose and fell with each of Tan's breaths.
"......." She couldn't help but sigh at him, then looked back to smile to Dan sheepishly. "...I suppose we have our answer." Smile still in place, she started across the field, taking in the damage and careful not to trip. She'd have to see how much the repairs would after they were through... Coming to the taller man's side to shake on his victory. "I surrender."

Dan seemed taken back when she said 'surrender', but he smiled and shook hands with her, offering "Care to go get something to eat? I'll pay, don't worry". He looked to Tan, who was also asleep. It'd seem unfair for him to return him to his Pokeball with Chris sleeping on him, so they could enjoy each other's company.
"Never second guess or undercut yourself: you're a great fighter. And you have a real synergy with your Pokemon"

Ann smiled a bit at her friend's seeming surprise. She withdrew her hand and placed them behind her back, nodding at the offer.
"Perhaps just a small snack would be nice. I doubt anyone would try and steal those two, but better to stay close, just to be safe." She blinked in surprise at his statement. "Thank you. But like you said, it was a sparring match. I didn't want to risk Chris getting hurt badly, even by accident."
That much was true. She'd never seen the appeal of fighting until the faint; nor like the fighting itself as much as most other trainers she'd met, choosing to spend most of her time studying ways to gain experience without it being at the expense of feral Pokemon. A little unorthodox, she supposed, but it seemed to work for her team well enough. She also had some recruits to lecture later, and didn't want Chris, a fan favorite, to appear in poor shape, fresh from the Center. (He never tried to eat the chalk like Linoone, nor spook the more superstitious recruits as Froslass did) She did hope that the sudden forfeit wouldn't inconvenience Tan's training, however, and told Dan that as well as she allowed him to lead the way.

"Nah, Tan's training is eating, mostly. Oh, and... well" Dan picked up his disguise case, which was roughly the size of a large lunchbox and opened it, revealing not the usual kit but an egg
"Breeding. The Day Care Man didn't know how it happened, but sure as day, I have another tiny Tan coming along"
He led her outside and towards where there were a few shops and places to eat of varrying degrees of food. Dan smiled as he looked around, adding while motioning to the places
"You may choose where you'd like to eat, just nothing spicy. It gives me gas, and no one wants to see that"

Ann couldn't help but laugh. She walked with Dan, speaking while she looked at the various shops.
"That's sounds like a nice regimen for Tan.... Do let me know when it hatches? I'm fond of the hatchlings myself. Always very cute."
She chose a small place a short distance from the Dojo, not wanting to be too far from the Dozing Pokemon. She asked as they sat down to eat, "And what about the rest of your team? Is their training going well?"

Dan sat and ordered a sandwich as he stowed the egg back in the case, making sure it was nice and safe. It was a Munchlax egg, not a Snorlax, so it would be rather adorable when first born. It would also eat everything. Not the worst condition in the world, but still notable
"It's going pretty well. Crimson (Scizor) and Gold (Electabuzz) still have a running rivalry, which is great fun to watch. They spar against each other sometimes, which is truly a sight to see. Noir (Dusclops) has been kinda sick recently, so it gets a little bit of a break, and Blue (Salamance) is flying around here right now"
No word of the sixth Pokeball on his belt, but Ann by now probably knew what it was and his policy on talking about it. He ordered a tea as well before asking
"But enough about me, how are you and your team coming along?"

(Sorry for a slow reply DD: )
Ann smiled and listened closely, propping her elbows on the table, chin resting on her palms. "I bet it is. ....I'm sorry to hear that Noir isn't well." She couldn't help a glance out the window towards the sky, imagining where the large dragon could be at that moment.
"They're coming along quite well," She began, when asked about her own. "After this battle, I'm going to be sure Chris has a nice break. Linoone keeps causing mischief lately, so I have to take him out of town to train, otherwise he starts raiding people gardens during breaks. Altaria and Gio (Salamance) have it the most interesting for now. Every visiting trainer seems to want to fight them. Captain (Ampharos) and Frosslass do most of their training with recruits." She pursed her lips. "Captain likes that, but Lass gets antsy; I just worry about her getting carried away in a real battle, sometimes."

Dan listened intently as he thought of her Salamance. Maybe one day they could have a play date... it would be frieghtening as all hell, but it would atleast be interesting. He looked up to the sky as well and just shrugged off the idea, pretty sure Blue was startling Pidgey's or scaring the Hell out of some un-expecting hikers. Yeah, that idea brought him a smile
"It's good to hear that you have some excitement going on. I'm working on a Team strong enough to rival those who are on my level. I'm sure you have ranks in the Police Force. Well, I have a need to smack maturity into some of my allies. But I don't want to talk about work. I'm sure you don't either. Unless you do. I'm all ears when it comes to your work"
Dan smiled as he took a sip of tea, watching her from over the lisp of the cup. His long, pencil thin grin spread to the corners of his face as he commented
"Good stuff. Better than the Wigglytuff urine they brew in Hoenn"

(This is obscenely late I AM SO SORRY. DD: )
Ann laughed under her breath and shook her head, both at the comment and the statement. "Glad you like it. I prefer their lemonade, myself... And I probably shouldn't tell you the details at work; though there isn't much to tell lately, besides the rookie training." Her smile spread a bit wider. "Apparently many of the last recruits thought only 'brute-looking' Mons were acceptable Police aides."

"Oh, we all get our share of gun-ho rookies who think that they were the first person to believe Houndoom can win battles on looks alone. Which they can't, I've tried"
His sandwich arrived, Dan's eles lighting up as he ate through it like he hadn't eaten in weeks. By how skiny he was, it was probably the case. Oh well, fantasmical.
"I think Hoenn was my favorite place to travel to... except for pre-volcano Cinnabar... poor folks. I really do wish the best for them. It was such a tragedy..."
He shook off the thought and asked "What about you? Where have you enjoyed traveling to?

Ann's smile fell a bit at the mention of Cinnabar. Her gaze fell to her glass, recalling the incident. It had been the first relief missions she'd been assigned to, and she knew she would never forget it.
"It was... At least most of the wildlife were able to be relocated."
She fixed her smile, nodded pleasantly when her order was brought over. She hadn't been hungry, per se, but there was always time for a little desert. She took a bite of the syrup-covered ice cream before looking back to him.
"I think my favorite place to travel would have to be Mount Silver. Such a beautiful place, and quiet."

"Mount Silver... I've been there. It is quiet, and very peaceful. It's also bloody cold, which is why I didn't really stay"
Wiping his mouth after a tasty sammich, Dan drank another sip of tea and added "There are some great Pokemon there. Strong, too. I find it interesting to watch Pokemon in the wild. Watch how they organize"

She gave a happy sigh at the thought. "It is cold, but worth it for me. I usually spend my vacations there. The elevation makes Lass more comfortable than the warmer temperatures around here, and it's a nice change of pace for everyone. Well, save for Gio... I always have to leave her down in the valley, but she seems to like that anyway. " Ann couldn't help but laugh a bit. "As a bonus it makes them all look extra fluffy and warm when we come home. So cute. ....Oh, you do? Which species do you find the most interesting?"

"Wobbuffets"
He took another drink before laughing, adding
"Nah, I'm just pulling your leg. Though, when two Wobbuffets meet, they see who can go without food the longest. Also, if you attack a Wobbuffet's tail, it will use Destiny Bond. Anyways, my favorite Pokemon to study are probably Starlys (or any Swarm Pokemon) and Sudowoodos. I've been trying to find a Red* one for years now, but they always elude me."

"I see.... I'll remember not to attack a Wobbuffet's tail the next time I see one." She took another bite of her snack, wanting to finish it before it melted. "And what do you plan to do if you ever do see a Red? Out of curiosity."
Ann had of course heard of the occasional Pokemon being found with unusual colors. Career breeders sometimes claimed to be able to produce them, and very occasionally, did. It took planning and careful selection of the parents, and a million times the luck; and when these special coated-babies were sold, the pay off was tremendous. She had never seen one of these unique Pokemon in the wild, however.

"I'll take a picture of it. For the longest time I wanted to catch it, but I've long abandoned the idea. Something so rare and so beautiful should be allowed to live on its own. So if I could just get some real proof of one, I'll be happy"
Dan drew from his bag an old film camera, one that actually uses film. That was the point, actually; if it were pure film, then you couldn't claim it was Photoshopped
"My Dad gave this to me before he left for Sinnoh. Everytime I visit him, I thank him for it"
