On weekends,I'm probably going to be stuck with Ubuntu. Anyone know how to work it?

I'm assuming you mean the OS. What exactly about Ubuntu do you need help with? Because it's not like as if I can explain how an operating system works by forum posts. Or IMs for that matter.

Um...the bars on the top and side are gone. I have no clue where they went off to, and I hope they aren't on their honeymoon... EDIT: No probelm soon, getting it switched to XP! (7 is too new for the laptop)

try rebooting and if that doesn't work, try in terminal or alt+f2
unity --reset or try
unity --reset-icons then reboot.
That usually happens due to an icon problem or an update, and if those doesn't work, tell me.
Also yay, win XP~ I'm guessing you know more about XP than ubuntu xD And i personally prefer XP overall to win 7, but microsoft is cutting off XP from some of the things I need which is why I'm using a win 7 now :c

Alt F2 didn't work. It's no longer a problem due to my friend putting XP on it.
